Non Examination Class
Singing at DFTS is for boys and girls wanting to learn and improve on their vocal technique and develop their voices. Within these classes children will work on warm-up and breathing exercises which will explore a variety of sounds and styles enabling students to achieve their best. Children work in groups focusing on harmonies and as soloists improving on audition technique and vocal range. The musical repertoire is varied covering musical theatre, pop, jazz and classical songs.
Within all DFTS singing classes, there is a strong emphasis on vocal performance whilst using the voice in a safe manner. Students will learn about music and the way sounds are formed, improve on their listening skills and vocal projection and develop their self-confidence.
Children can start these classes from 6 years of age. This is a Non-Examination class.
Singing Class Times
At present our Classes take place on a Saturday
All Class levels are either 30, 45 or 60 minutes in duration and are designed for children 6yrs – 18yrs. Once a child reaches the age of 8yrs they will need to be assessed, to ensure they are placed within the correct class for their standard.
