DFTS Pre-School Classes
Melody classes encourage children to safely learn the basic steps of ballet, tap and movement to music. This is done in an appropriate way for a child’s level of physical development. DFTS classes are tailored for discovering and fulfilling the potential of each and every child. We nurture their creative development in a safe fun enjoyable space.
DFTS melody Bear Movement classes, introduce children to dance and movement. An important part of learning in melody classes comes from understanding the natural actions of the body. Actions such as running, walking and jumping plus more advanced skills like hopping, skipping and galloping form an important part of learning. All elements of these classes are structured to aid children’s physical development, coordination, and spatial awareness. These skills go to improving their sensory development, creativity and self-expression. Children will learn to work individually, with a partner, and in a group.
Melody Movement
Melody Movement introduces children to other fundamental curriculum learning skills these include counting, colour and shape recognition, along with vocabulary and language skills. The strength of the system is that learning is achieved through imaginative movement which is enjoyable and fun.
Melody Bear Tip Tap Toe
Melody Bear Tip Tap Toe classes are a fun introduction to tap dancing. In the class children learn with themes and stories to introduce tempo, rhythm, beats, patterns and steps. Your child will love exploring these principals of music and dance. They take a ‘journey into tap’ featuring rhythms inspired by musical genres as diverse as, Big Band, Rock n’ Roll, Disco, Show Tune, Hawaiian Hula-Hula, Cheerleader and others.
Class Times
At Present our Pre-school classes take place on a Wednesdy after school.
Classes are 30 minutes in duration and are for children between the ages of 2.5yrs – 5yrs.
